UBC Insiders has emerged from its cocoon as a bright and shining reinvented media source. Alex will be joining them to do “Research and Business”, not that I know what that means. I don’t quite know what role Alex has envisioned for himself here – I would expect something reduced, and I’ll give some back-story to that later – but he’ll be doing … something … over there.

The new editorial team is interesting, and from what I can tell, are going to take a more … how to sum this concept up in one word … Aristotelian approach to the news, in so much as Aristotle thought that “The Law is Reason, Free from Passion”, so to will news be passion free. Maybe not though – the new team is just that, new, and we haven’t gotten a chance to see what they’re going to produce.

Also new is their new social media and calendar functions (love ‘em) as well as a new design (hate it with a passion – it feels like reading a newsletter inside of a straitjacket, not that the RBT is easy on the eyes, mind). The thing that I’m most excited about is the investigative feature of their self proclaimed mandate – so many things are going on, it really is hard to keep track of it all. There really is no better disinfectant than sunlight (except, of course, Lysol).
