Exciting News from the World of Maths!

Alex and I have been working on this project over the past year/past night. Basically, it’s a graphical representation of voting patterns within the AMS.

Alex gives a good summary here, because he understands this nonsense. He misses out on the part where I sit for a month trying to wrap my head around what a Matrix is and why a*b=/=b*a, and other nonsense like that, but I think it produced a cool result.

Basically, the greater the distance between the points, the less likely two people are to vote with one another. From the meeting that I was analyzing, the person with whom I was least likely to vote was Lin Watt (this was ACF debt forgiveness meeting, for some context).
